Frequently asked questions

Questions and answers about Precision Transport services

Does Precision Transport have tri-axle equipment available?

Yes. We maintain tri-axle trailers and specialized equipment across our terminal network. Let us know your load requirements and we’ll match you with the right equipment.

What are the weight advantages of a tri-axle?

A tri-axle chassis can legally carry significantly more weight than a standard chassis by distributing the load across an additional axle. This can save you money by avoiding overweight fines or the need to split heavy containers into multiple shipments.

When do I need a tri-axle trailer?

Tri-axle trailers are required when your shipment exceeds the weight limits of a standard two-axle trailer. They’re commonly used for heavy containerized freight, dense cargo like steel or stone, and overweight ocean containers that would otherwise require costly overweight permits.

What is special equipment in freight transportation?

Special equipment refers to specialized trailers and vehicles designed to handle loads that exceed standard weight or dimension limits. This includes tri-axle trailers, which distribute weight across three axles to legally carry heavier loads on public roads.
